- Tesco lists automatic doors, accessible parking, accessible toilets and a detailed access guide. Lidl’s locator lists disabled parking. Check each shop’s own information for the facilities you need; those details do not describe every pavement between the shops.
- Dogs
- Shop admission rules vary. Check the individual retailer’s policy before bringing a dog inside.
- Toilets
- Tesco lists toilets including an accessible toilet and baby changing. Newcastle also has council public toilets with seasonal opening arrangements. Store facilities can have different opening hours from the shop.
- Refreshments
- The supermarkets sell food and drinks, and town cafés offer places to stop. Check current opening and services; no particular product or food counter is guaranteed.
- Parking

- Mountain emergencies
- The rescue team’s base is at 3 Shan Slieve Drive. For a mountain emergency, call 999 and ask for Police, then Mountain Rescue; do not rely on visiting the base for emergency help.
